Fall Reality Show TV Programming

The latest season of Dancing With The Stars kicked off on September 19th, and promises to offer its typical dosage of entertaining competition. For those who don’t know, this is a show that pairs celebrities with dance partners to examine their dancing prowess. It is always loads of fun, and often leads to surprisingly fantastic dancing from popular public figures.

• The X Factor also began in late September, and has led to plenty of intrigue, as Simon Cowell’s new American Idol-style show. In fact, it is almost difficult to tell what distinguishes the premise of this reality talent show from Idol, but with Simon on board it is sure to be entertaining.

• The Real World is back as well, for those who still enjoy the popular MTV show that places young adults in houses together. This season, the Real World is in San Diego for the second time, and while this show is less popular than it once was, it still runs in much the same way, meaning that old fans may have a lot of fun picking up with it again.

• Just this week, “Gene Simmons Family Jewels” started, as the latest version of the sort of reality show that takes the public inside a celebrity’s lifestyle. Much like “Meet The Barkers” and “Viva La Bam” before it, this show simply takes us inside the lives of rock legend Gene Simmons and his family.

This list features only a few of the plethora of reality shows on television this fall season. However, they do provide a taste, for reality fans, of the variety available in the genre, particularly with an expansive tv channel package. If you are a fan of reality television, you will definitely want to look into such a package so as to be able to catch all of your favorite shows, such as the ones listed above.

Big Brother 13 Coverage Starts Now

The time has finally come. (Some of) the cast has been announced, and we are assuming the houseguests from season 13 of the reality tv show Big Brother have been sequesterd. Some time tomorrow I think will will find out what is going on, including at least one/some of the twists.

Who is coming back? There has been rampant speculation that some past favorites ( and hateds) will be coming back as "dynamic duos." Speculation includes names like Evel Dick and daughter Danielle, as well as Jeff, Jordan and some other couples or showmances.

Stay tuned for Big Brother Blogging here and well as posts and feeds from the Big brother Blog. As always, you can watch the live feeds with a subscription to the Real Pass program. There are banners on the site, if you are interested, and the subscription comes with a no obligation free 3 day trial.

New Big Brother Reality Show Blog

It's no secret that over the past few years we've been focusing more on our show specific blogs, like the ones for Big Brother and The Amazing Race. This Reality TV Blog has becaome more a hub site for reality television shows in general, more random reality tv news, updates on other shows, and promotion for our core sites.

With Big Brother 13 starting in less than 2 months, we are really gearing up for what might be our biggest summer ever. There is a new blog focused completely on the live feeds that show action from the Big Brother house around the clock- Big Brother Live Feeds. Every year, there are subscriptions that allow viewers to see what they can't see on the show, as well as blogs that recap events from the previous night's live feeds. I'm not sure if this blog will perform the latter or be a hybrid of both.

Reality Rocks Expo, A Reality TV Star Convention

If you are really into reality television, you might be interested in Reality Rocks, a reality television star convention.

According to the LA Times, This Reality Rocks Expo happened last weekend ( I just got the news alert today..)

While I'm a little late with this news, it really looks like we didn't miss much. The big stars were Audrina Patridge and Karina Smirnoff. If you really want to see them, you can just watch Dancing with the Stars or find their pictures in Playboy or, you know, all over the internet.

The editor of realityblurred.com described the lineup as "pretty weak" and that sounds pretty accurate to me. Still, I feel obligated to cover as much reality tv news as I can and this story popped up in my email. Personally, I can't wait for Big Brother to start.
